So you've got the Marko Bro Brush, now how do you learn to use it?
Copying master's work is the best way to learn how they use their tools. This excercise really helped me learn how to render properly.
Step 1.
On Marko's Facebook page, he includes some degenesis character art with flats as well as the final artwork, and sometimes intermediate steps. Take the flats of an image you like and the final image as your reference.
Step 2.
Color picking from the reference image, use 'awesomepaint' or the bro brush to build up the shading. Start with the basic volumes, working from large volumes to smaller, like you would sculpting in zbrush. You may need to put some items on their own layer and hit preserve transparency to make it easier.
Step 3.
Add detail using a hard brush.
