Here's a perplexing quote from radical concept artist Marko Djurdjevic:

So what does Marko mean by "Art is Magic" and "Magic is real"?
If you know anything about concept art you must have heard the amusing story of the Divine Nibru. A quick recap:
A new artist, known as "divinenibru" asked the users of Concept Art org for their interpretations of his very unique character named "Nibru".

The thread can be found here though most images are gone.
At first users responded negatively to this request. On a conscious level, the character is crude. No one wants to waste their time drawing a crude character for free.
But then something magical happened. Wes Burt posted his awesome interpretation of Nibru.

Why? Because Art is Magic.
Thereafter many talented users posted their versions, including Marko.

It was like the scene out of Fantasia, no one could stop the procession of art.
You can find more interpretations here.
But why did this thread happen? What is it about the divine Nibru that led to the "epic thread" that "took CA.org by storm"? Why did the "heavy hitters" such as Andrew Jones, Coro, Marko, Dos Santos, Wes Burt, Whit Brachna, Rich Doble feel compelled to draw Nibru?
The answer that question we have to know exactly what Marko meant by "Art is Magic" and "Magic is real". If you want to find out in detail, join Ninja-art.org! You will then get access to this thread where we explain in detail exactly who Nibru is and why he affected concept artists.
By the way, here's my interpretation:

There are many artists out there claiming that a formal education is essential for producing art. I say, that's nonsense.
You need to have an keen and open mind first, before you're able to produce anything artistic. You gotta have an appretiation for life, instead of denial.
I tend to see art teachers as car mechanics.
A car mechanic will be able to tell you everything about a Mercedes, he will explain how the motor functions, how the gas is flowing through the engine, how the breaks work. He'll be able to explain to you every single detail of the car, but he will never be able to explain, why any given person in this world drives exactly this car from Berlin to Paris and parks it close to the Louvre.
Same with Art. You can build up any system of rules you want but in the end Art is Magic.
And Magic is real.

Things that should remain constant through all interpretations:
- The Halo on top of his head, it should be a solid halo-shaped object above his head. The stripes don't have to be there though...
- His Mouth is stitched shut, his eye brows are composed of stitches and the marks on his right and left cheek (think of them as warpaint)
- He is old, has only his left eye and has long hair
- A Necklace that's the letter M
- He should be carrying a spear but the design of the spear can change
